Wedding Invited for Marissa & Brendan

More recently I was asked by my good friend Marissa to draw and design her some wedding invites for their upcoming nuptials in December. She gave me a few mood images to work from and then I worked my magic for the rest. It was really great doing something very photoshop and graphic heavy, which I haven't done in a while, but was great to get back into! Especially producing something for the lovely couple on commission... I may have to take a look into this Graphic Design malarky and see what come of it.

EUROPE 2017

I spent a few months this summer making the most of Europe and the places I have never seen. I started with family in the UK and gradually made my way through the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy and finally the Greek Islands... and having so many awesome experiences to remember from it...

Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The Swiss Alps, Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.

Bern, Switzerland.

Genoa, Italy.

Burano, Italy.

The Amalfi Coast, Italy.

Riomaggiore, La Cinque, Terre.

Oia, Santorini, Greek Islands.

East End Night Market

I decided to have my first soft open market stall in March this year, to test out a few new pieces and to get feedback on my remaining Cotton + WOOD artworks. Unfortunately, I did not sell much but had lots of positive feedback from people and kind words.... I don't think I would do this market again however, as I seemed to be the only 'higher end' designer there, which doesn't bode well for sales... Next step, Bowerbird me thinks.

Gifts for my sister....

A few little gifts that I completed for my sister in the past year. For Christmas, a handmade paper cut of her favourite Harry Potter quote and for her birthday a little drawing of our family pup, India....

TAFE ARTS ::: Ceramics Term

Just a little update on what Ive been up to in the last year....

At the end of 2016/beginning 2017 I completed another couple of Ceramics short courses; one of which was Wheel Throwing Basics and the second being Glaze making. I looked at various ways on how to construct pots and plates, and then went onto use the other class to decorate my vessels. Here are a few of my workings....

SALA 2016: Cotton + WOOD

For this years SALA I also, very last minute, decided to register for an exhibition entitled Cotton + WOOD. A continuation of some of my previous artworks, I wanted to explore the technique of crochet and balsa wood further and experiment with various patterns, colour ways  etc in order to work towards producing pieces for markets and online sale and finally get my little design boutique off the ground running. Here are some photos of the night, I will be uploading photos of the individual pieces very soon, so watch this space....

A new direction ::: CERAMICS

Over the past few months I have been taking various ceramics short courses in order to up my skills a bit. I have loved ceramics ever since tip-toeing into the subject area ever so slightly at the end of my graduate project and have wanted to learn more about it. Adelaide has such a large ceramic artist community, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to take that step. My first course was in Surface Texture and Decoration at the Jam Factory, taught by Sofia Nuske and recently I also completed a beginners wheel throwing course at TAFE ARTS; I am also currently completing a semester there too. Here are some pieces that I made whilst on the individual courses....
