Ten by Ten

A recent exhibition of ours presented by Paper String Plastic and curated by Dave Court of which I also  produced some work for as seen below. Held at Point A gallery in Gunston St, Adelaide, the theme of the exhibition was films, each artist producing a 10x10 inch piece based upon a scene or narrative, all money made being donated to charity.

My hand cross stitch piece was based on The Shawshank Redemption, from some poignant narrative by Big Red, Morgan Freemans' character. The cross stitch also refers to a piece in the film.

Workshop!

I apologise for the quality of the image above, but I thought I would just introduce you to the Workshop on Hindley St in Adelaide, where I am currently holding my collection. Its a fantastic little collective space that I co-run with 3 other Adelaide based fashion designers Angela Carrig, Lachy Lang and Emma Sadie Thomson. We currently received the Best Incubation Project Award from Renew Adelaide, which was fantastic... we are really trying to get this place on the map! It still needs a bit of work even though we have already done quite a bit to it but its getting there...

Subversive Clay Flyer

Recently I have been volunteering for Subversive Clay, a bi-project of Craft South Adelaide, helping them in their build up to a ceramics conference in September. They asked me to help them produce a flyer for their 'Rock The Frock' event, allowing me to use one of my images of my necklaces as the main body of the poster...

The Sheraton-Murray Wedding Projects

I had the pleasure of creating a few little items for Hayley and Matthew's Wedding this August...

The first of which was a crochet cast cover for Laura after she fell off her horse days before the wedding... beats a plaster white one anyway! I tried to use colours to compliment her bridesmaid dress and the same were used to make the crochet heart wedding cake toppers below...

Baby Blanket for Faith Rose

I decided on crocheting a baby blanket for my friend Melissa's baby shower. I am thinking about producing these as a product on my market stall as well as making them available for commission.

Fleur Green Marketing

I was asked to do some marketing and logo designs for up and coming Adelaide Musician/Artist Fleur Green so here are some of my Initial Ideas. I think we are planning to do a photoshoot for her album cover also so watch this space! The ideas were inspired by a conversation she had with someone in the USA where she was randomly asked what she would be if she was an animal... a kookaburra she replied whilst he would be a seal! And it stuck! I think she's planning on doing a song based on the story...

SHOWCASE at Paper String Plastic

At last I finally have some photos for you of my showcase 'Threatening Postures' at Paper String Plastic Gallery on Hindley St in Adelaide. The night was so much fun, I had a fantastic time and all the models/dancers were incredible! It was a really great experience to have a solo show, especially at Paper String Plastic as it is such a quirky little place and Kiel Hummel, the owner, was brilliant in helping me organise whilst I was away in India. The night consisted of about 4 catwalk performance shows every 30mins, and I was very lucky to have a couple of bustling audiences especially for the Fringe opening night.
